Ticket to Ride is a board game designed by Alan R. Moon and published by Days of Wonder. The game is set on a map of different regions around the world and players compete to build train routes between cities, connecting different regions and completing specific objectives.
Variations
Ticket to Ride: Europe - This variant takes you on a train adventure across Europe, with new cities and routes to explore. It also introduces tunnels, ferries, and train stations, which add new challenges to the game.
Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countries - In this variant, you'll be playing in the frigid north, with routes stretching from Denmark to Norway. This game is designed for 2-3 players, so it's perfect for smaller game nights.
Ticket to Ride: Marklin Edition - This variant swaps trains for locomotives, and introduces passengers and merchandise to the game. Players can use their locomotives to transport goods and score bonus points.
Ticket to Ride: 10th Anniversary Edition - This variant features a deluxe board, new gameplay elements, and updated rules. It also includes special translucent trains and train stations.
Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails - This variant takes players on a maritime adventure, with routes stretching across both land and sea. You'll need to build trains and ships to complete your routes and score points.
Ticket to Ride: New York - This variant takes the classic Ticket to Ride gameplay and condenses it into a 15-minute game that's perfect for quick game nights or as a warm-up before a longer game. Players will race to complete routes and score points in the Big Apple.
GAME RULES
Ticket to Ride is a board game where players compete to build train routes across the United States or other countries/regions, scoring points for each completed route. The rules of the game are:
Each player starts with a set of colored train cards and a set of train pieces.
At the beginning of each turn, players can either draw two train cards or claim a route on the board by playing the appropriate train cards.
The routes on the board are different lengths and colors, and players must use their train pieces to connect the cities on the board by following the correct color and length of route.
Players score points for each completed route, with longer routes scoring more points.
The game ends when one player is down to two or fewer train pieces, and then final scores are tallied.
Bonus points are awarded for completing destination tickets, which are secret goals that require the player to connect specific cities on the board.
The player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.

GAME SETUP
Here's a brief overview of the game setup for Ticket to Ride:
Shuffle the train cards and place them in a face-down deck. Draw five cards and place them in a row next to the deck, forming the "train card supply".
Shuffle the destination tickets and deal three to each player, face-down. Players may choose to keep all three, two, one, or none of the tickets.
Place the remaining destination tickets aside, and draw a number of train car cards from the top of the deck equal to twice the number of players plus one. Place these cards face-up in the middle of the table.
Choose a player to go first, and give them the starting player marker.
Each player receives four train car cards and three destination tickets.
Players take turns either drawing two train car cards from the supply, drawing three destination tickets and keeping at least one, or claiming a route on the board by playing the appropriate train car cards.
The game ends when one player has two or fewer train pieces left. At this point, all players get one more turn, and then points are scored based on completed destination tickets and claimed routes.
